So, 2008 is upon us. Resolutions anyone?
In the coming year, I would hope to become more thoughtful and considerate. I have always been a fairly conscientious individual. However, there has often been a tendency to create intellectual barriers and distinctions, rather than acting from visceral, reflexive responses. Though I have been involved with wonderful service work in the past, such as coordinating a poetry program for women, at the Cook County Jail, in Chicago, I have missed too many opportunities to integrate this service mentality into daily life.
