Remarkable, and I remember what it was like in Chicago when the Bulls won a championship! There was a deep, ecstatic emotion that ran through the city, nation, and world tonight.
Let us invest our hope, energy and commitment in the growth of this movement.
As a side note, have a listen to “speaking of race,” a song which I could not have known, would be so foreshadowing!

Last weekend I went to Indianapolis, and played the Oranje festival, with Brandon Meeks, on bass, and Richard “Sleepy” Floyd, on drums. Hopefully, I will be performing with this duo more in the future. As of right now though, I have no concerts booked. I suppose I do a poor job of planning, but it has been difficult, getting things going, back in Chicago.
This past week, I also had a few fashion shows, one for Ducati, Akira , and the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The last couple of days, I also had photo shoots in Michigan, so I am keeping busy.
As for the IMWS, we did not make the finals. I listened to the bands who made the cut, and well, I can’t feel bad, because we on different wavelengths. I make the music that I love and believe in. That’s what I’ll continue to do.

I know it’s been too long since I posted some news. I am back in Chicago, after another great summer in France.

This weekend, I will be performing at the Lincoln Park Art Faire, and next weekend, at Oranje, in Indianapolis. I am especially excited about next weekend, which will be a homecoming, performing in the city’s most progressive event.

As you know, I have posted some videos on youtube. The most popular of these clips has been “let go,” but I encourage you to check out others, such as “stimulus,” where you can hear the version that has evolved, since recording Sound Strategy. This weekend, I will debut 3 newly composed verses to “stimulus.” I like the direction this song has taken so much, that I might rerecord it for my next album.

This year, I entered the Independent Music Awards, from Disc Makers. My band has made it to the semi-finals of this competition, and I should know, within a week, whether we will make it to the finals. We can never know how competitions will go, but it would be a tremendous opportunity to play in the finals showcase. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

About four years ago, during Bobby McFerrin’s workshop, at the Omega Institute, Rhiannon told me, “give something that is important to you.”

Recently, during a private conference for an on-camera class, I told the instructor, Doug McDade, actor and director, that I am not always the most forthcoming. Doug reminded me that the best actors expose themselves.

So, I have resolved to become more expressive and share these other facets of myself. Doug reminded me, “you are not only a musician.”

I never wanted to be one of those people who presented a business card that said, “actor, model, pianist, vocalist, poet, martial artist, composer!” But, to provide a more complete picture, I will open the perspective.
